Energy Efficiency requirements for new homes and alterations & additions to existing homes

New homes need to achieve a 6 star minimum Energy Rating as of 1 May 2011 in Victoria. Mountain Creek Architecture is Nationally accredited to conduct ratings in First Rate 5. Achieved Certificate IV in NatHERS Assessment in December 2015. This is now a mandatory requirement for thermal performance accreditation.

Home alterations and additions are required to meet minimum energy efficiency standards, as set out in the Building Code of Australia, Volume 2, Part 3.12. This includes complying with minimum standards for orientation, insulation, window heat transfer, thermal mass, light and ventilation. Mountain Creek Architecture conducts these assessments as part of the design process.
